Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager

Qualification: Operations/Departmental Manager – Level 5

Duration: 21 months (18 months on programme learning and 3 months EPA)

Entry Requirement: Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this before getting to Gateway.

Course Outline/Overview

In our Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager course, learners will delve into the intricacies of organisational performance, mastering the art of delivering results through an understanding of operational management, project management, and finance.

They will learn to create strategic plans aligned with organisational objectives, develop operational plans, set KPIs, and effectively monitor performance against targets. Furthermore, participants will gain insights into managing change, fostering commercial awareness, identifying opportunities, and leveraging
data analysis to inform decision-making, all crucial skills in driving organisational success.

Moreover, this course focuses on interpersonal excellence, equipping participants with the tools to effectively manage people and develop relationships within the workplace. How will I be assessed?

Learners will be assessed using a range of assessment methods, some of these assessment methods include, but are not limited to: professional discussions; observations; knowledge workbooks; reflective accounts and witness testimonies. These assessment methods will work in combination with each other, to ensure that a sufficient portfolio of evidence will support the knowledge, skills and behaviours you have required.

At the end of your period of learning you will reach what is called Gateway, this is when the employer, you and the training provider agree that you have learnt the content of the Standard. You will then be put forward for EPA, which includes:

Assessment method 1: Professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

Assessment method 2: Project proposal, presentation and questioning

Progression

Learners will be assigned an assessor, where learners will receive regular information, advice and guidance, this incudes career and progression guidance.

can support you with seeking alternative progression routes through other providers for further education, employers and job prospects.

Funding Options

Apprenticeships require a 5% contribution of the overall amount, this 5% will be invoiced prior to sign up of the apprenticeship. The 5% contribution for this apprenticeship standard is £350, with the full cost being £7,000.

Other funding options include exploring the option for transfer of levy funds, from levy paying providers.
